As the founder and owner of beauty-to-be,
Jennifer Bueno has earned the recognition
of being one of the most preeminent
and sought after makeup artists
in San Diego and Orange County.
She continues to evolve in her career
and is consistently researching
the best products and techniques
within the beauty industry, making
her more skilled in her craft. She
successfully maintains a balance
in her career as she manages her
bridal clientele while freelancing
during the week for her print and
commercial clients. Jennifer’s
work has been published in various
magazines including Coast, Inside
Weddings, Riviera, Modern Bride Southern
California, Orange Coast,
San Diego Style Weddings, Razor Magazine, and Town
& Country.

Born and raised in San Diego, Jennifer discovered
a love for makeup artistry, something that incorporated
her natural artistic abilities, and her interests
in beauty, fashion, and photography. As a teenager,
she enjoyed applying makeup on herself and her
friends as she practiced with different products
and colors, and created new looks based on what
she learned in books, magazines, and on television.
Jennifer began using M.A.C. products in 1993,
and enrolled in their spring 1994 seminar to learn
more about their latest products and techniques.
She was chosen by Senior Makeup Artist Gregory
Arlt to be the model for his demonstration and
from that day on she knew she too would become
a professional makeup artist. |

Later that year she moved to New York City to pursue
a career in the fashion industry. Jennifer assisted
a fashion photographer and helped with numerous
tasks including casting and scheduling photo shoots
with the world’s top modeling agencies, assisting
both in the studio and on location, while working
alongside with professional makeup artists and fashion
stylists in the industry. During Fashion Week in
the spring of 1995, she assisted backstage at the
shows for designers Cynthia Rowley and Nicole Miller,
and attended Marc Jacobs and Ghost. Later that year,
Jennifer worked as a photo assistant for both Entertainment
Weekly and InStyle Magazine. These experiences enabled
Jennifer to learn something new each and every day
in the exciting fields of makeup artistry, photography,
and both the fashion and entertainment industries. |

In 1996, after returning to California, Jennifer
put her career as a makeup artist on hold for three
years while she managed the sales and production
of Brystan Studios, a high-end photography studio
in Orange County. She knew makeup artistry was her
true calling and from 1999-2000, Jennifer studied
and trained to become a licensed esthetician, thus
making her a licensed makeup artist. After graduation,
she went on to continue her education in advanced
skin care at The International Dermal Institute
in Los Angeles. During this time she also did makeup
and hair design for photo shoots and weddings and
worked as a freelance makeup artist for Hard Candy
Cosmetics and MTV. |

| Jennifer
decided to create her own company and website to
reach prospective clients and in the spring of 2001,
Venus Makeup Artistry was born. Since then, Jennifer
has successfully worked with hundreds of brides,
taking part in making their wedding dreams a reality.
In 2003, Venus Makeup Artistry evolved into what
is now beauty-to-be,
offering makeup and hair design exclusively for
the bride-to-be while setting a new standard in
today’s wedding industry. |
